Terms of Service

Welcome to The Star Moment, a service operated by Ciercle LLC ("we", "us", "our"). By using this site and buying our products, you agree to these terms.

What we provide

We create custom star-map artwork based on the date, time and place you choose. You can buy it as digital files (delivered by email) or as a printed poster that we ship to you.

Your content

You are responsible for the text and any photo you add to your map, and confirm you have the right to use them. We do not claim ownership of your content.

License

On purchase, you receive a personal-use license to print and display your map for yourself and as gifts. Reselling the files or using them commercially is not permitted without written consent.

Accuracy

We take astronomical accuracy seriously and support dates from 1900 to 2100. Maps are artwork based on real data and are provided as-is.

Prices and payment

Prices are shown in US dollars and are charged in full at checkout through our payment provider, Stripe. A "launch price" shown next to a struck-through figure is the price you pay today; the struck-through figure is the regular price we intend to charge once the launch period ends.

Shipping

Printed posters are made to order and shipped with tracking. Shipping is included in the price. Risk of loss passes to you on delivery; a poster that arrives damaged is reprinted and reshipped free of charge — send us a photo. Orders shipped outside the United States may be subject to import duties or taxes charged by your country, which are your responsibility.

Refunds

See our Refund Policy: a full refund within 14 days if you are not happy — counted from purchase for digital files and from delivery for printed posters.

Cancelling an order

Digital files are rendered and emailed within minutes of payment, so an order cannot be cancelled after checkout; the 14-day money-back guarantee covers you instead. Printed posters go into production quickly. If you need to stop or change a print order, email us immediately and we will cancel it at no cost if it has not been sent to the printer.

Acceptable use

Do not use the designer to create maps containing unlawful, hateful or infringing text or images, do not attempt to scrape, overload or reverse-engineer the service, and do not resell access to it. We may refuse or refund an order that breaks these rules.

Availability

We aim to keep the site available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, third-party outages (hosting, payment, printing, email) and events outside our control can interrupt it. If an outage prevents us from delivering something you paid for, we deliver it late or refund it.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim connected to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as a gift arriving after an occasion. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of Sheridan, Wyoming have exclusive jurisdiction. Before starting any formal proceedings, email hello@thestarmoment.com: almost every dispute we have seen is a printing or delivery problem that we fix or refund within a few days. If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, this clause does not remove the protections of your local law, and the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform remains available to you.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the foot of this page shows when they last changed, and continued use means you accept the current version. A change never applies retroactively to an order already placed.
