Heart White Star Map

The sky inside the heart is computed the same way as every design we make: around 9,000 stars from the HYG catalog, all 88 constellations with their official line figures, placed for your coordinates and your minute, for any date from 1900 to 2100. The heart is a window onto that sky; what falls inside the shape is drawn, what falls outside is cropped. A few constellations near the horizon may sit outside the shape, which is the trade for the silhouette.

The poster ground is off-white with a slight warmth, not a cold white. The heart is a deep near-black, the stars are white, and the constellation lines are a mid grey that sits back from the stars.
